A Relationship With God
It takes courage to admit that you are not perfect and in God's eyes that makes us sinners. God is holy and He requires holiness from His children. But you might say, "I can never be perfect."
Perfection in God's eyes is sinlessness. He knows that we are unable to be sinless, so He provided a solution; Jesus Christ! Jesus paid the penalty by dying on the cross for ALL of your sins past, present and future. When we admit our sinfulness to God and believe that we are TOTALLY forgiven and commit to making Christ Lord of our life, God then sees us as He sees Christ and that is TOTALLY righteous. We are made right with God!
Step 1- Confess with your mouth! Admit to God in prayer that you are a sinner and you are truly sorry for your sinfulness. Ask Christ to enter your life and become Lord of it.
How can it be that easy? Trusting can be difficult. We must trust the truth of the Bible. It says: For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. And become a new person, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
Step 2 - Learn to trust! As times go by you will be tempted to live like you used to and doubt that God has saved you. You must daily TRUST Him to help us live a life that pleases Him. You are a new person now.
Step 3 - Read your Bible daily and pray for God to help you live a life that honors Him. Join a solid, Bible believing church.
